What We Believe

  • The Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God.

    (Deuteronomy 8:3, 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21)

  • One God is revealed in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

    (Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14)

  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is truly God and truly man, sinlessly perfect, born of a virgin, and that He died for our sins, was buried and rose again bodily from the dead.  He has ascended into Heaven where He ministers as our Great High Priest.

    (John 10:30, Luke 24:39, Acts 4:12, Acts 13:39, and Galatians 2:16, Hebrews 4:14–16, 9:24)

  • Every person (except Jesus Christ) was or is born a sinner under the judgment of death.

    (Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12)

  • Salvation is only by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who died to take the punishment for our sin.

    (John 3:16, Romans 6:23, Romans 8:33-34, Romans 5:8-9, 1 Timothy 2:5, Titus 3:5)

  • All those who have repented and have truly trusted Christ for salvation are eternally saved.

    (John 10: 27-28, 2 Timothy 1:12)

  • The Holy Spirit is active in the world today, as well as in the life of the believer, enabling and empowering Christians for service.                                                                                                                                                               (John 14:16, Acts 1:8)

  • There is a literal eternal heaven and a literal eternal hell.

    (John 14:2, Luke 16:19-31, 2 Corinthians 5:1-10)

  • We believe in the personal and imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ for the dead and the living "in Christ".      (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

  • All Christians, living or dead, will be taken up into heaven when Jesus Christ returns.

    (1 Corinthians 15:51-53, Colossians 3:4, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 1 Thessalonians 5:1-5)

  • The unsaved will be judged and receive eternal judgment for sins at the Great White Throne of Judgment.

                 (Revelation 20:11-15)

  • We should participate in the Lord's Supper on a weekly basis to remember the death of Jesus Christ as He requested.

    (1 Corinthians 11:23-32)

  • We believe in water baptism, by immersion not for salvation but as an act of obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ.

    (Acts 2:41, 19:4-5)

This is not intended to be a complete list of our beliefs. The entire Bible is the best source. The above are some of the most important beliefs we share with other Christians.
